The elevation of the lowly tire to icon status, as advertising, especially in the 50's and 60's, did so well. The background is made from individually placed S&H green stamps, a device department stores used to increase consumer loyalty. You could get just about anything with enough green stamps, as long as you kept buying. Consumer culture at its best. 24x12x1.5" hand-cut collage on wooden panel.
