Presque Vu - Move

I selected tires for their utilitarian nature and simple repetitive forms. I saw these tires as possessing kinetic energy, just waiting to do what they were made to do: move. Through the repetitive process of cutting these images out of books and magazines, a new work developed: one that juxtaposes the physical world– black and white– with this partially hidden, brightly colored parallel universe.

Presque Vu is a new series of meticulously created collages made from hundreds of images found in old books and magazines. These images, arranged into dense, sculptural forms, touch upon the idea of parallel dimensions or hidden worlds where perception, space and time are upended.
