Non-Verbal
This piece started out as a study in the merging of man and machine. During the process, however, I reflected on the relationship between myself and my now deceased father, and the former lack of relationship between us. That aspect was healed before his death, but I still think of my 3 sons, and want to make sure our communication is healthy and clear. Mechanical objects and pursuits can help to serve as a bond between dads and sons, and in some cases, I'm sure it's the only means of that bond. But, it should be only one means, not the sole version. Hand-cut collage, acrylic and pencil color on masonite, 24x48x2".
