Lazarus House

Lazarus House

An Austin couple (architect and interior designer) commissioned a work of art that would celebrate and tell the story of their home. They reimagined and renovated the hundred-year-old house, giving it new life, hence the Lazarus House name. During the renovation, they discovered old wallpaper behind the sheetrock, and meticulously preserved it for me to include in the piece. I opted for a more abstract composition, first creating a small scale rough to walk them through the idea. Then upon approval, I created the final diptych. I made sure to include the original wallpaper nails as part of the composition.

I also created an augmented reality experience highlighting the various elements to help the homeowners walk their guests through the story.

Each piece is 24x48" collage, acrylic and oil pastel on cradled wood panels.
