Good Boy

Part of my Cereal Box Portal series. I spent a lot of time at the kitchen counter as a child, eating cereal, oatmeal and other self-prepared foods. As I read the backs of countless cereal boxes while eating, I was transported to other places and times, far away from my south Louisiana home town. There aren't a lot of pictures of me as a young child, since I was the fifth and youngest sibling. The grainy cyanotype image speaks both to my existence and the fragmented memory of that time. That fishing dock was located on the Bayou Teche near my childhood home. My oldest sister and her husband now live on that property. 17x22" collage cyanotype and pencil color on cereal box, unframed.
