Etoile de Suisse
I photographed this retired TWA airplane in the aircraft graveyard in Tuscon. The wear and tear on these old aircraft spoke to me about their travels and history, and sent me on a journey to find travel ephemera to help tell its story. Every rivet, ding, dent and fading paint gives these old aircraft character and untold stories, like war veterans. Collage, acrylic and graphite on masonite, 36x36x2".
