East Coast Sailing Couple

I created this large piece for a Maryland couple who have been avid sailors for over 30 years. Utilizing their images and information, plus some old National Geographic maps that I've had, I layered the elements to tell their story. Details include a large compass rose made of images of the ocean and sky, locations visited and lived, sea life, sailing and navigation icons, as well as their 51' sailboat which they've almost completely rebuilt over the years. 4x5' collage and acrylic on canvas.
